A pair of late 19th / early 20th century Louis XV style kingwood three drawer serpentine fronted and sided free standing commodes of impressive design, the tops with floral and scrolling marquetry inlay, further similar inlay to the sides, back and fronts, raised on four well drawn cabriole legs and heightened throughout with exquisite gilt bronze foliate mounts. A similar model is illustrated in the collection at the V & A (Museum no. 1093-1882) where they describe the piece as  in the manner of Bernard van Risamburgh II, Paris, 1755-1760. This pair possibly by Sormani. France. C.1900
