A fine example of an early 19th Century sarcophagus shaped tea caddy in figured satinwood, the top and sides heightened with tulipwood crossbanding bordered with holly and boxwood chequered stringing, hexagonal parquetry motifs and an inlaid mother of pearl escutcheon. The lid opens to reveal three compartments with satinwood veneered lids with further holly stringing decoration. England. C.1815
