A rare and small mid 18th century vernacular elm Quantocks dresser base, the well figured single piece scratch moulded top above three frieze drawers, the shaped elm sides united by thick pot board standing on original shaped feet. This type of dresser is discussed in detail in "DRESSERS IN THE WEST COUNTRY" by  Gabriel Olive where an almost identical walnut example can be seen illustrated.  England. C.1750
