A very well proportioned 17th century oak Dorset coffer, the original lidded top with thumb moulding to the edge, the three panel front with well carved line and foliate motifs typical of the coffers from this part of England, the whole with stained decoration, the lozenges on the frame alternately heightened with black and further black geometric motifs to the corners of the panels.
