A rare George II period "Forest" chair with a wide coat hanger top rail, single piece bow supported on blade arm supports above an extraordinarily deep carved saddle seat raised on four typically turned legs of the early period. An identical example of this type of chair (from the collection at the V&A) can be seen illustrated in Thomas Crispin's book - The Windsor Chair. England. C.1745
