A large, English refectory table in well patinated oak, the cleated top supported on a well proportioned frame with shaped end supports - generous drawers at each end, the whole raised on four square tapering legs untied by an H stretcher. English tables of this type are particularly scarce in comparison to their continental equivalents. Made for the kitchen of the Bigland family residence, Bigland Hall, Cumbria.
